Frankland River

Known as a rising star in wine production, the Frankland River region wines viticulture began in 1969 and has only more recently become known as a significant producer of premium quality Western Australian wines. Located in the Western Australia Great Southern district approximately 360 kilometres south-east of Perth, Frankland River is one of the fastest growing wine regions.

The vintage takes place later than in other West Australian regions due to its cooler climate, with grapes harvested from late February through to early May. This cooler temperature creates a superb complexity with its harvest. Riesling, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet are varieties of particular note in the region.
