Rutherglen

Situated in north east Victoria and located near the banks of the Murray River, Rutherglen is the agricultural and viticultural centre of one of the oldest wine growing regions in Australia. The growth in the region throughout the years and the local winemakers passing on their knowledge throughout generations has developed many of the boutique wineries spread throughout the region today.

The combination of great sunshine and mild weather allows many grape varieties to develop the full flavours for which Rutherglen wines are so famous for. Great examples of Sparkling Shiraz, Pinot Chardonnay, Riesling, Marsanne and Chardonnay, Sangiovese, and Gamay attest to the successful application of modern winemaking and viticultural techniques passed down an impressive lineage over the years.
